Text Box: Mr. Backer has over twenty-three years of experience in commercial real estate with a strong background in Development, Sales and Marketing. Experienced in office, mixed-use and industrial product types plus land planning, he has operated his own company since 2000. Jim Backer shows his appreciation for history with one of his favorites at Tourney Place. Mr. Backer is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of California and a member of the Build-to-Suit Forum for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. He was founding President of the Chamber Education Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation dedicated to improving public education in the Santa Clarita Valley, and he remains an active Board member serving a new term as President. He is also President of the Foundation for Children’s Dental Health, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing dental care to children of low-income working families. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Backer graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and has an MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.
